Career

Paulo Menon is a seasoned IT Consultant/Architect professional with a passion for open source, AppDev and cloud computing. With a robust background in all the soup letters you can imagine for instance 👨‍💻 DevOps, GitOps, Any other Ops, Java ☕, AppDev, Cloud native, Integration, Automation and Kubernetes, With extensive experience with App modernization, the cloud transformation journey helping customers to adopt cloud platforms and automation. Paulo brings extensive experience and a unique perspective to his work.

Paulo has demonstrated a commitment to excellence throughout his career, consistently delivering innovative solutions and driving positive results. His strong leadership skills, combined with his ability to troubleshoot, architecture design and reviews, have enabled him to work in several different industries such as financial, energy, bank, airlines, private and public sectors.

Paulo is known for his passion for collaborating and helping others to strengthen their abilities, creativity, adaptability, problem-solving abilities, team advocacy and customer focus. He is highly regarded by colleagues and peers alike for his professionalism and integrity.

As it was mentioned by one of his peers “I found Paulo very professional and friendly and easy to work with. He has a great sense of humour, which keeps the team atmosphere light even during high-pressure times. I will be happy to work with him in future.”

Paulo has over 20 years of experience in IT. He began his career programming in Java before popular frameworks like Hibernate emerged. His journey started in Brazil as a JBoss consultant, working as a contractor for Red Hat and its partners. After some time, he moved to the UK, continuing as a consultant for Red Hat UK, again as a contractor/partner, for another three years. Paulo then joined Red Hat as a permanent employee in 2015.

Currently, Paulo works as a Principal Consultant and Architect, where he has the flexibility to contribute to both architecture design for cloud application development, DevOps, GitOps, automation, and integration. He is also hands-on in delivering application modernization, cloud-native solutions, and cloud architecture and development.

Giveback to the community

Outside of work, Paulo is passionate about giving back to the IT community by working as a mentor in the London Java Community, Meet a Mentor and also helping local schools, colleagues and universities as a Stem Ambassador presenting workshops.
